The Best Travel Coffee Mugs Ever, The Backbone Of All Trainers in 2023

Alongside our boots, breeches, and helmet another critical piece of equipment you'll find in every trainer's arsenal is a travel coffee mug.

From endless show tournaments to long days of teaching most of us turn to caffeine to fuel our days, and maybe even add a little something extra after a long day to make it an adult drink.

I myself have all the travel mugs I'll need ready for cold and hot drinks depending in the time of year. Here are the ones that I use the most.

Pro Tip: When preparing your coffee mug boil some extra water and use it to warm it up before putting your coffee into it first.

Yeti Rambler 18oz Travel Mug

This is probably the best travel coffee mug I own and the one I use the most, especially during the colder months. The temperature retention is superb, I can put hot coffee into this travel mug at 6.30 am and if I don't get to it until noon it'll still be warm enough to enjoy.

I also love the leak proof lid, it makes it very easy to throw into my backpack as I leave the house and never have to worry about it spilling.

  • Double-wall vacuum insulation: keeps your beverage hot or cold for hours. This insulation technology prevents heat transfer, ensuring your beverage stays at its optimal temperature.

  • 18/8 Stainless Steel: This stainless steel mug is durable and resistant to rust, punctures, and dents.

  • No Sweat Design: prevents condensation

  • Dishwasher safe: throw it into your dishwasher without a second thought

  • Leak-proof lid: completely leak-proof, safe to put anywhere.

Yeti Rambler 26oz Straw Lid

The Yeti Rambler 18oz is what I use for keeping drinks hot, but this is what I turn to for cold beverages.

Most of the time I'll put cold coffee into it but I've also used it for other cold drinks like smoothies and it keeps them cold almost all day. During the summer shows, I might leave the house at 5.30 am and my drink will still be cold at lunchtime.

  • Size: 26-ounce capacity, which is large enough to hold a generous amount of your favorite drink.

  • Insulation: double-walled vacuum insulation, which helps to keep your drinks hot or cold for longer periods of time, while preventing condensation from forming on the outside of the cup.

  • Leak-proof lid: designed to be leak-proof and spill-resistant.

  • Durability: made with kitchen-grade durable stainless steel that is both rust and puncture-resistant, ensuring it will withstand the test of time.

Cons: The reusable straw can be a little hard to clean, make sure you have a straw-cleaning brush. It's a bit big for most cup holders.

Thermos Stainless Steel King 16 Ounce Travel Mug

This is one tough travel coffee mug that just won't die. It's the good old faithful that I grab if everything else is in the dishwasher, and I always feel like I should use it more often because it's so damn good.

I've had this thing for close to 10 years and have probably used it hundreds of times by now and I can still rely on it to keep my coffee hot for a long time throughout my day.

Its durability so far is unmatched simply because it's been around for a long time at this stage, having been dropped from the top of countless horses.

I've even left it on top of my car one day only to find it later when returning home, dented but still doing its job of keeping the coffee warm and contained thanks to it's leakproof lid.

Features:

  • Size: 16-ounce capacity, perfect for taking your favorite beverage on the go.

  • Insulation: this vacuum-insulated mug helps to keep your drinks hot or cold for up to 7 hours. This technology ensures your cold and hot drinks stay at their optimum temperature while preventing condensation from forming on the outside of the tumbler.

  • Leak-proof lid: spill proof lid keeps the liquid where it should be.

  • Durability: made with stainless steel that is durable, and rust and dent-resistant, ensuring it will withstand the test of time.

  • Easy to Clean:: dishwasher-safe design makes it super easy to clean.

  • Versatility: suitable for a wide range of drinks, from coffee and tea to smoothies and cocktails.
